The Appeal

The Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith is a symbol of post-war luxury and craftsmanship. Built as the smaller car in Rolls-Royce's range, the Wraith was the first post-war Roller and an immediate hit with the well-to-do, boasting a more rigid chassis, independent front suspension and a Synchromesh gearbox.

The example we have today, nicknamed The Blue Baron and used as a wedding hire, is particularly handsome thanks to its coachwork by Hoopers, the esteemed Royal coachbuilders to King George VI.

This car was even showcased at the 1952 Brussels Motor Show as a mark of pride for the company - and looking at it today, there's little wonder. The royal blue colour scheme, wide whitewall tyres, and sweeping wings add to its majestic presence, while the kneeling Spirit of Ecstasy and mammoth chrome headlights complete its regal look.

Internally, the car offers a spacious and luxurious cabin with magnolia leather piped in blue and lavish lamb’s wool carpets. It's all positively palatial, and the car's current owners, a wedding hire business, have ensured that luxurious character is kept intact.
