1951 Jaguar Mark V Drophead Coupé

Highlights

  • One of only 685 Mark V Drophead Coupés ever produced
  • Desirable 'Gunmetal Silver' paintwork over a red interior
  • Comprehensive restoration completed in 2019
  • Engine overhaul and reinstatement in 2024

The Appeal

The introduction of the MkV marked an important chapter in Jaguar's history. It was their first car to feature independent front suspension, the first with hydraulic brakes and the first to employ aerodynamic fender 'spats' over the rear wheels. It shared a stand at the October 1948 London Motor Show with the all-new XK120, which stole the limelight yet sold far fewer cars year-on-year.

We're excited to bring to market this very rare variant of the MkV, one of just 685 Drophead Coupé models ever made. Originally produced for a showroom in Wellington, New Zealand, this vehicle has travelled to Malibu, California, before arriving in Poland. It underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2019 and an engine overhaul in 2024.

If you're a Jaguar collector, this well-restored rare convertible is surely an essential addition to your garage.
