The Appeal
Launched alongside the XK120 at the 1948 London Motor Show, the Mark V may not have been the centre of attention on the day, but Jaguar would go on to sell far more of them than they would XK120s over the next year. With streamlined coachwork, lavishly appointed interiors and powerful engines, the Mark V was exactly the sort of car the well-to-do craved.
We’re pleased to offer this cherished 1950 example with the larger 126 bhp 3.5-litre engine. Resplendent in Royal Ivory coachwork over dark tan leather, it’s been judiciously cared for over the years, winning numerous rosettes and trophies while also starring in several magazine features.
UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 3.5-litre Mark Vs with matching numbers are especially desirable amongst Jaguar collectors, making this a very appealing example. The vendor reports that it drives very well and is well-suited to long-distance grand touring.
