The Appeal

Introduced in 1949, the Fiat 1100 E presented many improvements over the previous B model, an evolution of the original 1938 Fiat 508C “Nuova Balilla 1100”.
It offered a larger trunk, a four speed partially synchronized gearbox with column shifter and a more comfortable and particularly well-finished passenger compartment, with the characteristic pillarless doors which gave it unparalleled ease of access.
It was a rather expensive, elegant and elite car, carefully finished and equipped with a chassis of legendary strength, used over the years as a base for prestigious coachbuilt one-offs and for many variants, from ambulances to taxis to pickups and vans, distinguished by the imposing American-style front-end that made it known as “Musone”.
This 1100 E is in great shape, with a bodywork free from noticeable defects, nice paint, shiny brightwork and a preserved original interior in very good condition.
The seller reports that this car has always been maintained with great care and garage stored and that everything is in excellent working order, including the beautiful trafficators.
Practical, robust and easy to maintain, this 1100 E represents an ideal opportunity for the enthusiast who wants to experience first-hand an important piece of Italian automotive history.
