1950 Bentley MKVI

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Presented very well
  • 1950s elite luxury
  • Only three previous owners

THE APPEAL

Since 1919 Bentley has been a leader in luxury and providing elite, sophisticated cars for the more affluent individual. Their ability to create the exceptional is second to none, with both performance and comfort reached using the finest materials and astute styling.

Bentley's first post-war, luxury car, the Mark VI is a perfect representation of the brand. Displaying stately, charismatic aesthetics with exorbitant, splendorous interiors and capable mechanics. In production from 1946 until 1952, the Mark VI was also the first car to be completely assembled at the Crewe factory and to be of complete steel coachwork and despite the exorbitant price tag proved to be a success.

Beautifully presented, this 1950s example has benefited from some recent recommissioning, where both the exterior and interior have received some minor improvements. Exhibiting a gorgeous interior and excellent exterior colour combination, this aristocratic saloon is a stunning illustration of the great car and is accompanied by a catalogue of history including past MOT certificates plus invoices and receipts for various items of work.

THE INTERIOR

  • Excellent condition
  • Minor signs of use
  • Sophisticated styling, expertly executed

Opulent vintage class features throughout the Bentley MK VI. It's gorgeous and elegant with sumptuous comfort, you can’t help but imagine the impression this car must have created when it was first revealed in the mid-forties, especially at a time when Britain was bruised and recovering. The condition of the interior is exemplary throughout, with only small signs of its age present. A full-width walnut dash features prominently, housing Smith's dials with black and white panels. This gorgeous wood runs throughout the interior, displaying on the door cards, rear trims and of course those rear fold-up tables. Recent and historic recommissioning has evidently helped keep Bentley's outstanding beauty in top order.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Presented with a Cream and Black paint combination
  • Excellent condition with some minor blemishes

With its aristocratic appearance, the Bentley MKVI impresses instantly. Its superior styling amplifies its importance, bestowing class and nobility with its long sweeping arches and handsome steel body. A divine combination of cream and black helps accentuate the Bentley's beautiful shape and flowing lines. It's an exceptional-looking car, that is presented in excellent condition, benefiting from some recent, light body restoration in the current vendor's ownership. There is a small blemish visible on the rear bumper plus the occasional patina present but otherwise, the car appears to be in excellent condition.

THE MECHANICS

  • 4,257cc F-head straight-6
  • 4-speed manual
  • Internal and external powder-coated fuel tank
  • Reported to be in good working order

The 4 ¼ litre engine of the Bentley is reported to be in good working order, starting on the button, running smoothly and driving well. Performance is good but era typical and as such the drive is characteristic of a vintage car. Plenty of supporting documentation for the car's mechanical history such as past MOT certificates and part invoices are present which should reassure any potential buyer of the car's operational health.
