1949 Riley RMC Roadster

Highlights

  • Owned by the same family since 2005
  • One of only 507 RMC Roadsters produced, a complete and solid
  • Elegant post-war 2-3 seater convertible
  • Previously very well looked-after but not used in recent years

The Appeal

The RMC was the final creation of one of Britain's most distinctive independent manufacturers. Struggling for survival, Riley created this elegant, full-length roadster, designed to capitalise on the emerging US market.

However, the project fell short of expectations, with only 507 examples leaving the factory. Nonetheless, these true rarities still make excellent touring cars, appreciated for their comfortable interior, torquey 2.5-litre engines and large boot.

However, they remain rare on the market, with owners tending to keep them in their garages for all these reasons. So this is an excellent opportunity to discover one of the most offbeat models of the post-war British motor industry.

This project will require some refurbishment, but it is remarkably complete and in good overall condition thanks to having been kept dry by its passionate owner, and is an extremely rare find.
