The Attractions

The Lancia Ardea 3rd series was the first mass-produced car with a five-speed manual gearbox. It was also a pioneer of V4 engines, equipped with a compact 903 cm³ engine capable of producing the impressive power of 26 bhp. Known for its advanced engineering and elegant design, the Ardea was born at a time in history when Lancia was building some of the best cars in the world.
This beautiful example from 1949 retains its original number plates, is still in Italy today and, according to our information, has never been restored. We have been informed that it owes its excellent condition to the fact that it has been meticulously maintained and used exclusively within the owner's home town.
The history of this Lancia is well documented, with ownership details dating back to the first time it changed hands, 1960. For the past ten years, it has been kept in a showroom and private garage, and has been maintained with great care.

The seller gave us further details:
"In 2007, after buying a new and bigger structure to carry on the business, which has been run by my family for more than 70 years, I started looking for the first model of the car used by my grandfather when he started the business, to display it in the shop window.
After nine months of fruitless searches on the Internet, by chance, I found the vehicle 100 km from home, and I bought this car from Mr Romano, which, by a lucky coincidence, was the same colour as the one my grandfather had bought at the time."
