The Appeal
As the Second World War drew to a close, Willys-Overland began thinking about how they could market the highly successful GP (known colloquially as “Jeep”) to civilians. While small changes were made such as flush-mounting the headlamps and fitting a new gearbox, the wartime Jeep remained fundamentally unchanged as it entered peacetime production.
Early examples such as this 1948 CJ-2A are immensely sought after amongst collectors, especially when they're in such fine condition as this. This Jeep presents beautifully throughout and looks to be very original. It’s accompanied by a substantial paperwork file and benefits from road tax and MOT exemption.
Jeeps this early are a very rare find in the UK and this example has to be one of the best.
