The Appeal

The historical significance of Royal Enfield is not to be understated. It holds the accolade of being the only motorcycle brand to span three centuries and has built a reputation for building dependable bikes. Here we have a charming 1948 G350 - hailed the ‘father’ of the immensely successful Bullet, which remains in production to this day.
Exhibiting a rich patina, this bike is a fabulous survivor that doesn’t warrant any cosmetic restoration unless you like your bikes to exhibit a showroom shine. We understand it to be in good mechanical order and therefore ready to be enjoyed. It benefits from road tax and MOT exempt status, si can be ridden right away.

The History and Paperwork

  • Retains the ageless registration ‘YSY 781’
  • DVLA records suggest ‘LTA687’ was the plate originally issues, which remained on the bike until q997
  • Exempt from road tax and MOT testing
  • First UK-registered on 19th August 1949
  • 27,050 miles in dedicated, although we’re unable to confirm the true figure

The Condition

  • Complete and original
  • Period-correct colour scheme, with chromed accents on the fuel tank
  • There are some light dents, plenty of scratches and general age-commensurate wear all over
  • The seat upholstery exhibits some damage, but remains eminently serviceable
  • No damage or excessive corrosion is evident to the frame
  • The wheels present well with some light patina
  • We understand the instrumentation and lights to be in  good working order

The Mechanics

  • 350 cc OHV four-stroke single
  • Four-speed gearbox
  • We understand it to be running well and riding correctly
  • Renowned in period for its reliability
