1948 MG TC

  • Original matching engine and chassis numbers
  • Only 960 miles since restoration
  • Rare Arnolt heater installed

The Appeal

The first of the MG T-types to hit the market after World War II, the MG TC was a somewhat anachronistic car, even by the standards of the time. It was remarkably similar to the 'T's from before MG had moved into tanks and aircraft for the war effort. In many ways, it's a model most fascinating for showcasing that immediate era of post-war motoring, when designs were undergoing enormous change and a new optimism was sweeping the world.

This particular example, finished in its original Sequoia Cream, has been comprehensively restored to remarkable order. Everything is brought as close as possible to the car's condition as it had been rolling from the MG production line—save for a rebuilt and lightly upgraded engine credited to the renowned specialist Peter Edney.

Originally based in the USA, this car's life in the UK has been incredibly comfortable, and its condition reflects this beautifully  -having only covered 960 miles since restoration, we wouldn't be surprised if you could still smell the paint and leather.
