The Appeal

The first post-war car from Bentley was always going to attract a lot of discerning glances. It was an expensive car considering the many motions Crewe had gone under to save some cash, with a standardised steel body used by the majority of them. Sadly, the metal provisions in a post-war Britain weren't exactly of a high order, and while the car became the most successful to date, they've become vanishingly rare.

This car, thanks to the owner's exacting specifications, had a much better shot at life out of the gate. With a Hooper's all-aluminium body, it not only resisted corrosion, but proved far lighter, which made for all manner of extra features. Check out that 'Moon Roof' and the rather quirky R100 headlights!

The car has since - in numerous guises - been seen in films and TV productions ranging from A Handful of Dust, Poirot, and Miss Marple, albeit in a different livery. That rather illustrious television and film history only extends an already fascinating provenance, backed as it is by plenty of paperwork. The car is so significant to the surviving Bentley Mark VIs that it's also photographed in Johnnie Green's illustrious Bentley - Fifty Years of the Marque - which is often heralded as one of the most significant enthusiast works on the brand in its history.

Boasting original, proven mileage, the car's original body, chassis, and engine, and a very beguiling two-tone blue livery, this vehicle is a bona fide once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You don't want to miss this one!
