Pre-bids

1941 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe

Highlights

  • Exemplary from the early years of the first generation
  • Restored to exemplary standards
  • Perfectly functioning 5.7-litre monobloc V8

The Plus

Designed by Harley Earl Junior, the visionary behind the concept car, the Cadillac Series 62 Coupé is a true icon of the American automotive industry. Only a genius designer like Earl could make such an imposing car so elegant. Its flowing lines evoke speed and are clearly inspired by the Streamline Moderne movement of the 1930s. Under its long bonnet sits a 5.7-litre block V8 engine, the perfect complement to this work of engineering and design.

This first-generation example, produced in 1941, is simply breathtaking. As the photographs show, this Cadillac is in superb condition and has clearly benefited from a thorough restoration. The vendor assures us that its imposing V8 runs very smoothly, and it is worth noting that the engine compartment and underbody are as well cared for as the rest of the car.

If you're a passionate collector of the golden age of American motoring, this rare Cadillac Series 62 Coupe certainly deserves a place in your (very large) garage.
