The Attractions

Although Triumph is probably the most famous British motorbike manufacturer, it was actually an Anglo-German company. The first Triumph Cycle Company in Coventry was founded in 1884 by Siegfried Bettmann, originally from Nuremberg, who had emigrated to the UK only the previous year. Production was initially carried out in both British and German plants, but increasingly strained relations between the two countries forced a separation in 1913.
We are pleased to present one of the last creations of Triumph Werke Nürnberg (TWN), a single-cylinder motorbike with a 500 cc engine marketed simply as the S 500 from 1937 to 1938. It has just undergone extensive restoration and is in splendid condition, retaining much of its originality, including a slight patina on some components.
With the engine still running and new tyres, this bike has been described to us as ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. It also has a FMI gold plate and valid Italian papers.
