Highlights
- A superbly restored and beautifully presented example
- Complete with current V5C and an original Morris 8 Operation Manual
- An ideal recommissioning project for pre-war enthusiasts
The Appeal
After the American-designed Ford Model Y arrived in 1932 and thereafter accounted for over fifty per cent of UK sales in its sector, previous market leader Morris was left licking its wounds, figuring out what it would need to build if it were to outsmart the might of Detroit. The answer came in the form of the Morris 8 - which proved so successful that Morris regained the position as Britain’s biggest motor manufacturer.
This 1935 example has clearly been cherished, undergoing high-quality restoration work while retaining every inch of its period character. It’s now time for a new custodian to continue this 89-year-old’s preservation, starting with any necessary recommissioning work in order to return the Morris to the road.
While it hasn’t been run or driven in some time, we’re confident that such a well-cared-for example will require minimal work to bring it up to scratch, and we envy the next lucky owner who will have the pleasure of restoring life to this delightful vintage motor car.
