THE APPEAL
Designed in 1916 by engineers Joseph Monet and Adrien Goyon in the small French town of Mȃcon, the pair formed a partnership to produce three-wheeled vehicles for immobilised people. With business going well, the company developed their first motorised version in 1919, followed by a two-stroke engine in 1921, and it grew from there, finally shutting down production in 1959.
This 1935 example has a 250cc engine. The tricycle entered the UK in 2016 and remained in a private collection. Enfield Refinishers were tasked with recommissioning the Monet Goyon for road use in 2020 which they did with great success.
