The Appeal
Hudson's signature '8' powerplant was quite a significant achievement in its day. Bulky though it might have been, the flathead eight-cylinder was an impressive piece of kit—with a block and crankcase cast as a unit and fitted with two cylinder heads. Of note, of course, was that it also gave cars a distinctive, long-nosed, forward-front stance.
It was a handsome feature - and in this Hudson Eight, picked out in very attractive blue livery, with a distinctive waterfall grille and subtle splashes of chrome that came to characterise the company's pre-50s lineup. They were pretty bulky car, but had a level of success on this side of the pond - a rather luxurious statement piece for, say, your local Barclay's bank manager.
Kept by the previous keeper for over 40 years, this fabulous car is highly original from top to bottom - loaded with period character and having spent much of its recent life in storage. It's even carrying what we understand is its original plate - which has been valued at £9,500 alone!
Lightly upgraded, recently serviced and running as well as ever it has, this beautiful vehicle is ready and waiting for its new owner.
