The Appeal

Edsel Ford had a very different vision of car design to his father. While Henry Ford clung to the Tin Lizzy formula, Edsel introduced bigger, sleeker and more powerful cars. One of his greatest successes was the Ford Model 18 of 1932, later known simply as the Ford V8.

The Model 18 was the first mass-market, affordable car to feature a V8 engine. It set a new standard for the American car industry and ignited a national passion.

This evocative example of the Hot-Rod was imported from Argentina in 'barn-raised' condition before undergoing a full mechanical restoration. It is now fitted with a more powerful 59AB flathead engine, sourced from trucks produced between 1946 and 1948, offering notable performance, enhanced by an Offenhauser manifold and twin Stromberg 97 carburettors.

With its evocative original patina and unique looks, this Model 18 is sure to catch everyone's eye. An incredibly original classic that deserves your attention.
