1926 Morris Flatbed Truck

Highlights

  • Very rare vehicle
  • Collector owned & stored
  • Restored in the early 1980s

THE APPEAL

The roaring twenties were a time of prosperity and optimism for most, the first World War and the Spanish Flu had taken millions of lives but as the years passed technology, engineering and manufacturing advanced especially in the motor industry.
Morris Motors was formed by the famous William Morris and is arguably one of the most successful companies of the era, with several subsidiaries formed including a Commercial Cars line, the British automotive firm built a reputation for high-quality vehicles and soon surpassed Ford as the best-selling vehicle of its time.
This 1926 Morris Flat Bed Truck is an exceptionally rare example of Morris’ Commercial line. Fully restored in the early 1980s, following original blueprints, the vehicle is a wonderful insight into the world of 1920s motoring. Originally owned by William Walker of Antrobus Cheshire who last used the vehicle in 1948, it is now currently owned by a classic commercial vehicle enthusiast, it lives stored away as part of a small collection where it is taken to the occasional show. Its heritage is tastefully displayed with added character, its condition impressive and kept original.
A remarkable vehicle and a unique opportunity for any enthusiast or collector.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Brown body paint with red chassis
  • Vintage, handsome appearance
  • Paint condition good with small indication of age

The appearance of this Morris Truck is the main selling point, Not only has it been kept in great condition but the restoration in the 1980s followed original Morris blueprints and as such the finish is as original as possible with added characteristics. From the colour scheme to the added rear cargo boxes, the look of this classic is on point and adds further appeal to its case. SUMMARY

As historic cars go, this 1926 Morris flatbed is quite the enchanter. The commercial Morris coachwork sets this apart from the usual pre-WWII cars, making it a rarer item altogether and its body-off, restoration and rebuild in the 1980s has added decades of longevity. It's evidently been cherished and cared for, especially in its current ownership, now the opportunity arises for someone else to own this superb automotive antique
