The Appeal
Put simply, one of the most important cars in history. The Model T continues to evoke people in a big, big way - to such an extent that a decent demographic of folks tend to think of it as the first motor car, period. It isn't, of course, but it's a huge signifier of just how special the 'T' really is - it dominates motoring history as really making the automobile an accessible, mass-produced prospect, and thus introducing the world to car ownership.
Needless to say, good examples of these century-old marvels are always popular. This particular car has been treated to all manner of modifications and upgrades, making for an eminently drivable car that hasn't lost its period mystique and lustre. This has ranged from a new body - inspired by the '20s 'accessory' bodies' - to a completely new ash frame, all the way down to a brake upgrade to keep it safe to drive on the modern network.
The vendor says:
"It was recently recommissioned car in running order and requiring some maintenance to bring it up to scratch. As a retired aerospace and marine industry engineer, I have had a fulfilling time bringing the car to a reliable driving standard with modifications to make it a more practical driving proposition on modern roads. Now the work is done, and I've been to several shows, it's time for the next project."
