Strong points
- Old restoration in very good condition

- Practical and characterful touring car for four passengers
The Plus
It all started, naturally, with the Type A, but it was Citroën's B2 that really launched André Citroën's formidable enterprise. This updated model of the first car combined pioneering mass production techniques in Europe with the brand's brand new 1,452cc, 20bhp engine. In five years, 89,841 examples left the factory.
All of which makes this magnificent 1923 B2 particularly special. No wonder it was the star of the Parade des Pilotes at Le Mans in 2007, with its elegant burgundy livery and black trim.
Like the wine, it has matured well. Overall condition is very good, inside and out, with a gentle patina that adds to its considerable charm. Since being purchased by the vendor in November 2011, it has benefited from regular servicing with tyres replaced, soft top and some woodwork refurbished. It is fitted with 12V electrics and indicators for added reliability and safety.
The B2 is one of the most significant cars in French motoring history, but surprisingly rare these days. This one is a real gem.
The seller tells us:
"A very eye-catching vehicle for its rarity and beauty. The beautiful sound of the engine often attracts attention".
