The plus
André Citroën, a great admirer of Henry Ford's production lines, was inspired by these methods after a visit to Detroit in 1912. He successfully applied them to his own factories, which were converted to arms production during the First World War. Once the war was over, Citroën wanted to produce a small, affordable car in the style of the Ford Model T, and the C-Type was born.
Affectionately nicknamed the 'little lemon' in reference to its pale yellow paintwork, the C-Type was available in short (C2) and long (C3) wheelbase versions. We are pleased to offer this 1922 5HP with a two-seater torpedo body mounted on a C3 long chassis.
Having benefited from a full restoration between 2013 and 2018, this vehicle appears to be a very fine example. It is incredible to think that this car is now celebrating its 102nd birthday.
If you're a vintage car enthusiast, a Citroën Type C is a must-have. And this one is one of the most beautiful we've seen.
