The Appeal
While Renault is today synonymous with affordable transportation, during its early years, it produced some of the most premium motorcars on the market. The CE was quite large by the standards of its era and many were fitted with opulent saloon and limousine coachwork. That’s where this example is a little different, bodied as a rakish two-seater open tourer that would appeal to pioneer motorists with sporting aspirations.
Built in 1912, this CE “Ballon” (or “Balloon Car”) has surpassed its 111th birthday, but following a fantastic restoration, it still looks amazing and continues to drive as intended. Its restoration has ensured it retains its original charm and is in excellent condition for its age. It offers a unique driving experience that harks back to the dawn of motoring, so don’t miss this unrepeatable opportunity to make it yours.
