Description
This car is a MK II Austin Mini Countryman estate car - similar to the Morris Mini-Minor Traveller or woody. It was registered on 3 January 1968. It has been in dry storage since late 2003, and is very original. Before going into storage, the car was used for local journeys, and prior to that, was a run around for an elderly gentleman from 1988 to 2002. There are 3 previous owners. The recorded milage is 55609, which is consistent with the car history and condition of seats etc. The car has a current V5, and the SORN is up to date.
The brakes have been overhauled, and the car is now in a condition to be prepared for MOT. This would be an ideal project for spring completion. The car runs and drives well, but requires a small amount of welding, and rubber steering bushes to be replaced.
The woodwork is original, and in good, rot free condition. The varnish was applied in 2003.
Doors, hinges and locks are also all in good order. The floor in the rear is clean and rust free, the spare wheel well is in good condition, with spare and bolt plate under the wooden board. The carpet in this section is also in in good condition.
The grill and other brightwork is mostly complete, with the side trim missing from the nearside. On the offside, the A section shows signs of rust where the inner panel requires welding. The only other known rust problems are small sections in the wheel arches etc., which should be able to be patched.
The interior is in generally good condition, with good roof lining, and side panels. Seats are in reasonable condition, with the drivers seat needing some attention to seams. There is some carpet for the rear footwells, but the front sections are not complete. The floor has been replaced where needed, and can be seen to be in good condition.
The sliding windows are complete with catches, but the channels and seals need some attention. The door pulls are also complete and the locks are in working order.
