Opel Monza GSE Auto, 4 year professional resto'n For Sale (1985) edit C142259 | | | I have owned this car since 1994 and it has spent about 4 years with Derek Thompson at GM6 in Cornwall undergoing a total nut and bolt restoration. Photographic record available.
The standard of work is exactly what you would expect and has not deteoriated at all since its return some three years ago.
Currently mileage shows 89K.
I am not really prepared to admit in a public advert exactly how much was spent but I can assure you it was massive. No expense was spared and originality was the instruction.
Whilst it is pretty subjective, I believe that this is about the very best (unmodified) Monza in the UK.
The car lives in a CarCoon (actually a Car-o-port) in a dehumidified garage and I would include this equipment in the sale.
I have boxes and boxes of spares, from windscreens to gearboxes and enough service items (oil filters, air filters, brake pads etc) to last for many many years.
Why?????
My work is very seasonal, summer is hectic and this is a car that needs to be at shows. I only really have time to use the car outwith the summer but am not prepared to expose this car to any potential environment that could diminish the perfection that Derek attained.
There is my conundrum - I have a concourse show car but am unable to show it. I have lots of time in the winter but absolutely won't put it onto salty Scottish Roads.
Therefore it is under used and locked away.
I will put a full years MOT on it.
I have created a cd of photographs and restoration work and will forward this to genuinely interested people.
