Description
This car was bought by me from Rover in 1990 as a second car ready for a new job. The job never materialised, and so the car has effectively been stored since 1992, having been kept on chocks and run every 6 months or so, but never in the wet. The tyres were replaced in 2006 as the originals looked aged. It has 35904 miles on the clock. It was MoT'd this morning - 26 Feb (ready for scrapping) and will be taxed on monday. I had planned to give the car to my children to drive; however, the insurance is prohibitive for them as new drivers. If you have a smaller car, I would be willing to exchange/ swap as appropriate. It is an automatic gearbox, with sport mode. Fitted with trip/ fuel computer. I do not want to scrap this beautiful car, but the £2000 that is on offer from the Government before the end of the scrappage scheme would allow me to buy a more useful car for the children, insurance wise. I can only hope that a rescuer appears over the horizon!
Final entry: Rover drove off with his new owner yesterday afternoon (Saturday 13th March) to be cossetted by a real enthusiast. I wish them all the best for the future, and am really, really pleased that due to circumstances I was not forced to ruin such a magnificent vehicle. Many thanks to you all, too, for your interest and support. Neil
