Description
1953 FORD ANGLIA E494A £2250 ono
ANGeLIcA is now 56 years young and started life in Ottery St. Mary, Devon. She was in the family of the original owner for her first 38 years during which time she moved to North Yorkshire. She then had two further owners in that area before coming to Llandudno a couple of years ago.
OOD 166 can best be described as an original and honest car as she has never undergone a full restoration. Due to her age she has a patina to her as would be expected for a car her age and is what I would call a bit 'crabby' here and there. I've always thought that she would lose some character if restored and resprayed. She is still on 6 volts and bulbs are halogen apart from the indicators. She has covered about 40, 000 genuine miles and has her old mot's and various documents. She is in use most weeks. The best aspect of owning one of these models is that practically all parts are available whether it's trim or mechanical parts. Also all the panels unbolt making restoration a simple job. I'm happy to say that the registration number is NON-TRANSFERABLE! I hate it when history is broken up. The E494A is become increasingly rare and a genuine enthusiast guardian is now required to look after her.
The bodystyle was introduced in 1937 (the 7Y eight) but the mechanical spec was introduced in 1932 (the previous body styled Model Y). The E494A gave way to the Ford Popular after 1953, when it lost the bakelite dash in favour of a plain metal one to cut costs, smaller headlights and a 1172cc engine.
When I bought this vehicle I never envisaged selling her on, but our needs have changed and we (the wife!) are looking to get a motorhome of some sort. If she doesn't sell I'm honestly not bothered as she is in regular use and is great fun to drive when you get used to her. hills!).
I will be including all the spares I have in the sale.
So to summarise:
